Shelter reservations must be made through the Lake Cunningham Development Trust to assure availability. Please fill out the reservation form at the bottom of this page if you are interested in reserving a shelter. Reservations are taken from May through October. Shelter reservation guarantees the renter has the shelter/roofed area available for use for their event. The restrooms, green space and park amenities are open to the public and exclusive use is not included in a shelter reservation.
Shelters can be reserved up to 120 days in advance from the date of the rental, and no less than 14 days from the date of the rental.
Refunds will be given for cancellations received at least ten (14) days before the reservation date.
The individual whose name appears on the reservation request is responsible for any and all damage to facilities and is also responsible for the group’s conduct while using the facilities.
Lake Cunningham staff and security will clean the shelter prior to the rental and will also monitor the shelter during the event.
Yes, however, persons reserving the park shelters are required to remove all decorations and signs that are used to decorate the shelter. This also includes the removal of directional signs leading users to the shelter.
Please do not surpass the maximum capacity allowed for each shelter. Shelters have specific capacities. Reservations/requests may be denied depending on attendance. The renter may be subject to an additional fee if found that the shelter reservation surpasses capacity.
Inflatables/bounce houses are not allowed.
Alcohol is not allowed in the park or shelter. This rule is in conjunction with the City of Omaha and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Glass bottles are not allowed.
Please pick up after your event. All trash must be thrown away. If the trash can is full, please leave the trash next to the trash can for ease of cleanup on our maintenance staff. If the renter fails to properly clean up after themselves, they are subject to a cleanup fee.
There is to be no driving of vehicles on sidewalks, bikeways or on park areas. Vehicles must be parked in designated parking lots. Vehicles illegally parked will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Music can be played, but please keep the music to a volume that is respectful. We do have residential homes nearby some of the shelters.
Shelter renter shall save and hold harmless Lake Cunningham, the City of Omaha, its agents, officers, employees, and members, from all claims, suits, or actions of whatsoever nature resulting from or arising out of renting a park shelter.
